Raining and freezing cold

It was such an awful night last night, freezing cold and raining even sleet at one stage, but it was lovely to see everyone who braved the elements to come to the Craft Barn to see my Christmas demo last night.

I love showing what you can do with all the wonderful Craftwork Cards products and I left lots of samples for the shop to display.

I am out and about again on Friday next week, 7th November when I will be at The Glitter Pot for a fun Christmas shopping evening. I will be demonstrating from 4pm onwards and the shop is open until 9pm.

Hopefully the weather will be a little kinder so come and join us for a mince pie and some festive inspiration!

Lovely Weekend

I have had a lovely weekend - firstly at Leeds getting ready for the workshop on Saturday. Sue and I went to see Mama Mia at the pictures, it was my Christmas present to Sue - albeit a little late!! Well it was brilliant we both really enjoyed it. I would recommend it to everyone its a real feel good factor film.

My workshop went really well and all the ladies seemed to have a great time. Janet you must let us know the quantities for your recipe for those amazing biscuits of yours!

Sunday I was at The Craft Box demoing our Christmas products and lots of ladies turned out to see my demonstration. Lynn and Gill looked after me so well again a wonderful healthy lunch, thank you both for the beautiful roses, my chocolates and gift card - you really shouldnt.

Im busy getting ready to go off to Glasgow on Wednesday until Sunday so its madness trying to get everything done for my, for Merv and the boys and for work but Im sure I will get everything crossed off my list - its growing quicker than Im crossing things off !!

Thank You

A few days ago I received a wonderful Birthday present from my good friend Caz, she sent me this beautiful card too. Thanks Caz, I know the present was late but you and I know it was worth waiting for.

I also received this lovely card from Dawn, another lovely friend, as a thank you for a pressie I gave her. Dawn makes the most beautiful cards and this is no exception, the picture does not do it justice.
Im off to Leeds on Friday for a Workshop on Saturday, my first for a long time so Im really looking forward to catching up with all the ladies up there. Then on Sunday Im off to The Craft Box at Elsecar Heritage Centre to demo some Christmas ideas. Really looking forward to seeing all the ladies there again, they made me feel so welcome and I know that Lynn, Gill and Hollie will look after me - they certainly did last time.

Lovely afternoon

I have had a lovely afternoon doing what I love - making cards. I have been sorting out all the birthday cards that I need in the next few weeks, well actually I've even made a card for my friend whose Birthday is Christmas Day! I have never been so organised in my life.

The first card is for my Mum, whose birthday it is on Sunday.

This one is for Merv.
This is a close up of the glossy accents I added to the paper, a great technique to use of men's cards.

This is a spare male card, I always struggle with men's cards and liked this design and paper so thought make a couple.
This is for my friends birthday on Christmas Day.
This is for Daisy, my brothers daughter. She has just started uni at Leeds so I made her a little pocket to take a gift card - do they do Food ones!

Some cards for a change!

I thought I better share some card ideas with you as the last two posts have been about my other love, motorbike racing.

I love this card, I made it by tying ribbon around a lolly stick, adding and embossed border and star. I punched a circle in green card, then punched around the circle with a scallop circle punch. Punch a hole in the front of the card, stick the scallop circle in green over the aperture and add the message to the inside of the card.

On this card I have embossed an acetate poinsettia by running it through the Cuttlebug. Turn the poinsettia over and fill the embossed channels with glitter glue and leave to dry. It does take a while but its worth the wait. Cover a big square card with patterned paper, adding Jelly Tots to the corners to look like brads (but no legs to hide!). Layer acetate flower to cardstock one and attach to card. Finish centre of flower with Jelly Tots and add a greeting.

I cut a giant die cut shape - scallop square - in half to create a big square card. Cover with patterned paper. Cut out snowman from die cut frame, colour with glitter glue and add some Jelly Tots. Add an embossed border to the card then the snowman, finish with embossed trees in the corner.

At the shows I get asked about my sweetie bags all the time. I will try and do some step by steps but it wont be until next week, its my Mum's birthday this weekend and I still have to make her a card!
I have used a scallop circle wrap, decorated with papers, lots of Jelly Tots and chipboard covered flower and an in circle message. Punch holes on the score line about 2cm from the edges and thread ribbon through to create a handle for your bag. Fill a cellophane bag - I used size 5 - with sweeties and attach to the back of the wrap with double sided tape. Fold front flap down and secure to bag with double sided tape. These make really lovely gifts for girls of all ages.
All the items I have used for these cards are available from Craftwork Cards website.

Happy Birthday JT!

Today is James Toseland's 28th Birthday and he celebrated in real style riding at the Moto GP at Phillip Island in Australia. His team manager, Herbel Proncharal, presented James with fish & chips complete with birthday candles!
He was 5th on the grid, fantastic place to start from, whilst poor Valentino was back in 12th after a late crash during qualifying.
James put up such an amazing race, especially whilst he was fighting for 3rd place with Valentino, who as you know is a genius!, and had managed to work his way up through the field to 4th. They swapped places several times - what must it be like to pass Valentino? I will ask James next weekend when I get to see him at Brans Hatch.
Thanks for making it such a great race to watch, I was on the edge of the sofa for the whole 28 laps. I wish it had not been such an early start, up again at 5am to watch the racing but James you made it worth it.
Have a great birthday!
