Crafts U Love Inspiration!

Hi
Ive another 2 beautiful cards to share with you all today using the fabulous Creative Expressions Layered Watercolour Blooms and Thoughtful Sentiments, together with the Marianne XXL Alphabet Die

Hope you like!

My first card, I used watercolour card stock with the Tonic Shimmer Powders (these are currently out of stock at Tonic - but should be in stock very soon) to create this gorgeous watercolour effect background.  I spritzed the watercolour card stock first, then added tiny amounts - yes tiny amounts of the Shimmer Powders - it goes a long way! Mixing in the two different colours until I liked the end result.
You could also achieve a very similar look with Tim Holtz Distresss Oxide Ink Pads - Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade would be perfect.
Once I had dried the background with my heat tool, I could then stamp the outline flower design using an embossing ink pad with WOW! Platinum Embossing Powder - which is absolutely beautiful - its such a fabulous soft white gold almost - I just love it!
The WOW! Embossing Powders and ink pads will be arriving at Crafts U Love any day now!
I also inked around the edge of the watercolour card stock with embossing ink, sprinkled with Platinum embossing powder and heated. I love that irregular embossed frame around my flowers.
I finished off with die cutting 'Hi' and embossing the letters with Platinum embossing powder too. Don't you just love those letters? They look like metal embellishments!
I tried a hot pink ribbon around my card and tied a knot to secure.

My second card, a totally different look even though I used all the same items with Brilliant White Embossing Powder this time.
To create the background I used more water with the shimmer powders and moved it around using some acetate - again until I like the look of the background. There are no right and wrongs here - anything goes and each background will be different.
Heat to dry the background, use an anti static bag before embossing the flowers and stems in white so that the powder only sticks where you want it to stick.
I love the layered up sentiment with the pop of black card, lifts everything off the card.
I sprinkled a few clear sequins around the flowers and sentiment to finish the card off.

I hope you like my cards and will give these techniques a go - they were such fun to make.

Which do you like the best? Platinum embossing of the Brilliant White embossing?

Have a great day
Happy crafting
Julie
