More Chocolate Orange

I dont know what it is about orange but I absolutely love this cardstock, Mandarin Ritzy - it is so sparkly and with the dark chocolate paper from Yummy Scrummy it just looks wonderful together.

The paper is foiled in gold so I added gold Card Candy around my mini message. I covered retro blooms with the papers and cut out some flowers from one of the papers. I have inked around the edge of the Elegant Rectangle using my favourite Versa Magic ink pads.

Today Sue, Mary and I are off to Stamparama at Stevenage Leisure Centre. I really like this show, everyone is so friendly and so into card making/papercrafting, the whole day always flies by. Be sure to come and say hello if you are going.

Wonderful in White

Grape and Grey papers come foiled in silver or white. Today I have used white foiled papers to create this card.

Papers are attached to the front of a scallop edge card, a panel of grey papers is edged with Card Candy - my favourite Chocolate Box. Add a mini elegant square, butterfly, message and, of course, a retro daisy to finish the card. All items from Craftwork Cards.

Make It Show starts today!

The Make-it Show starts today at Farnborough Airport, the show runs from Friday 26th through to Sunday 28th February. I will be there demonstrating on Friday and Saturday, then on Sunday its off to Stamparama at Stevenage for me, Sue and Mary.

Make-it is our first show of the season and I have been busy making new sample boards.

One of the cards is this handbag card. It has been created by scoring and folding an Elegant Rectangle in half, adding some Rio Romance papers, a mini elegant square covered in Grape and Grey papers and a beautiful butterfly.

Chocolate Orange

What could be better than dark bitter chocolate with a hint of orange? Good enough to eat thats what I say.

This card is the thin strip you get left from a sheet of A4 when you cut and score a big square card.

I have stamped on the Mandarin Ritzy cardstock using Momento brown ink pad. I have used the two hearts that come in the Love Birds stamp set to create a background on the card.
I covered a mini elegant square with Yummy Scrummy dark chocolate paper.

Add some ink coloured flowers, a message and some sheer ribbon.

I really love this colour combination - what is it about orange?

Easel Card

We made an easel card in the afternoon at The Glitter Pot last Friday 19th. All the ladies and Neil were really impressed, it looks great but they are easy to make.

We used the grey papers from Grape and Grey and the hot pink from Rio Romance - I love this colour combination. I also love the Rio Romance hot pink with the purple from Grape and Grey, and try the grey papers with marshmallow Craftwork Cards soft pink - just gorgeous. Then theres the Ritzy cardstock in lime with the grey papers or the purple papers - oh and dont forget the lime green with hot pink too! The list goes on and on - with just a few goodies you have so many different opitions.

A side view to appreciate the design element of this card.

Up close for the finer details.

Candy Tree

A candy tree what could be better!

I created a trunk with some branches and cut it out of Yummy Scrummy papers. Glued it to my card and sprinkled on card candy. I inked the edges of the scallop card and added dots of glitter glue at each scallop. Finished the front with a piece of patterned paper layered with a mini message.

Inside the card, a covered mini elegant square and mini message.

The finer details up close. I edged the tree with glitter glue and covered some of the card candy too.

Change the colours to milk and dark chocolate and this would be great for a man's card!

Stitches today

Im off to Stitches, a trade paper craft show, with Sue and Nikki today. Fingers crossed there isnt any snow for us down south or for Sue and Nikki up north, but I fear there will be some at the NEC in Birmingham where the show is being held.

I was told by Carolyn at The Glitter Pot that they closed Birmingham airport on Friday because of the snow. More snow is forcast to fall today. Hopefully it will all be ok as the NEC is only minutes from the M40 and hopefully that will be fine.

Im hoping to see lots of gorgeous new crafting bits and pie
ces that fill me with inspiration!

Below is a card from my morni
ng workshop at The Glitter Pot featuring Grape and Grey collection:

Glitter Pot Workshop

I had a fabulous day on Friday at The Glitter Pot sharing some ideas with a lovely bunch of ladies and Neil!

Neil I think you were very brave, surrounded by 10 crafting ladies, but I know you had a fab day too - thank you for the lovely comment you posted. Neil came with an old friend and colleague of mine, Carol. I had not seen her for ages and it was so lovely to be able to spend some time with her catching up and to see just how
happy she is.

We played with Grape and Grey in the morning and made this card:

Im really trying this year to decorate the inside of the card to match the front:

Love it, Love it, Love it!!!

Whilst I was out running a workshop at The Glitter Pot yesterday, look what was delivered to me ........

This gorgeous cream wire mannequin. It was a present from my wonderful friend Sue - thank you so much - I love it, love it, love it!!

I just have to think how Im going to decorate it, but I cant wait to get going on it.

Thank you to everyone that sent me details of where to buy mannequins too - I have been trying on e-bay bidding for several but being pipped at the post.

Anyway I have a gorgeous one to get working on now and I will show you how it turns out.

There was also some new goodies in the box too - but more on those very soon!

Cute bag

This cute bag is made by scoring and folding one of the new elegant rectangles in half and adding a ribbon handle.

I added a panel of Grape and Grey paper and the top of the bag is a mini elegant square cut in half, covered and layered onto pink paper which is cut out to leave a small border of pink showing.

I created a flower using the Petal Template 1 and added some card candy.

Inside the card I added some paper and cut out flowers.

Elegant Rectangles

This is another one of the cards that the ladies made at the workshop on Saturday, this time featuring the gorgeous new elegant rectangles.

Im so pleased with how the elegant rectangles turned out - it gives me such a buzz when I suggest a new shape to Sue and then it falls through my letter box ready for me to get creative with it.

By joining 2 together you can create a stunning shaped card, just score on the back one so that you can open your card properly but you dont spoil the front of the card.

I will show you another great idea tomorrow - an idea I got from Sue and then added my own twist to it!

Found it!

At last I have found the photo of Richard's birthday card.

It features 3 little trees made up of punched circles in different sizes and some crystals. The grey paper is from Grape and Grey paper collection and its onto my favourite Ritzy lime green card.

I covered a mini elegant square with some of the Grape and Grey papers too, cut it in half and added a mini message.

The finer details up close.

Im really pleased with this as a card for a man - they are so hard to make cards for but I know I will use this design again and again.

Heartfelt wishes

Another card from my workshop in Horley on Saturday featuring my favourite cardstock - Ritzy in the gorgeous lime green.

Add some grey paper - from Grape and Grey and the Rio Romance for the hot pink papers.
I created the flowers using my Petal Template 1 and added some buttons.

Im still trying to find a picture of Richard's birthday card, the one like yesterday's card but with 3 little trees. Im sure I took a photo - I will post it as soon as I find it.

Workshop in Horley

Had a lovely morning on Saturday at my workshop in Horley, thanks ladies.

It was really good having just 30 in the class and you all worked really well - I gave out a sheet with pictures and instructions on and I didnt really need to be there! No I would not have missed it and its lovely being able to go around and talk to everyone and have a bit of fun too.

This is one of the cards that the ladies made:

I used Craftwork Cards Rio Romance with a bit of Grape and Grey mixed in. Just punch lots of different sized circles and add some Card Candy for dimension. I love this card and as I told the ladies this would be a wonderful card for a man if you changed the colours.

I made a similar card for Richard, but used 3 small trees made using circles onto a Ritzy lime green card using the grey paper. I was really pleased with how it turned out. I will try and find a picture and post it tomorrow.

Paper, Paper, Paper!

I have been making Birthday cards so that I have them ready to send throughout the year.

I recently made a few men's cards using the same papers as I used for Matthew's 21st card. They are some old Basic Grey papers that I bought ages ago.

I like to follow the theme through to the inside of my cards and I add some patterned papers to the envelope too.

Another really simple card, ideal to send to the men in your life.

Decorated inside to match.

So at least I have 3 male cards in my birthday box ready to be sent now.
