Simon Says Stamp...Wednesday Challenge 15th August!

So this is what I made, which I hope you like!  I'd love you to leave me a comment below.

I started by making myself a template of an apple, stalk and leaves. I drew it onto scrap paper, cut it out and marked it 'template' so I didn't throw it away so I have it for always. I then traced around the template onto a card blank, overhanging part of the apple over the scored section so when I cut it out it would still be a folded card.

I then covered the apple shaped card blank with red paper.  I coloured the leaves and stalk using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads.  I scored down the centre of leaves, used foam pads and attached to front of card.  I then glued the stalk to inside of card front.

I tied a bow from organza ribbon, then added a button and tied the two together with twine, securing with a bow at the front.

I stamped and embossed 'thanks teacher' using WOW! Embossing Powder : Bright White onto black card stock, trim to size and attach to apple. I cut the stamp wording into individual words so I could create my own sentiment 'you + me = awesome!' Add stamped and coloured crayons beneath sentiment.

I then stamped and coloured the cute owl from Pink and Main Owl Nerds stamp set adding glossy accents to the Owl's glasses.

Crafts U Love Design Team Goodies!

Hope you are all well!

I've had a great time creating a few cards using my DT goodies this month! The Vicki Boutin All Good Things 12x12 pattern papers together with Penny Black die - Curved Stitch.

Beautiful bright cheery coloured papers and I hope you like what I've made to share with you all...

My first card...

I die cut the stitched curve into white card stock.  Covered the front of my 6x6 card blank and added the stitched panel to the top of the card. I cut some of the flowers and butterflies out of the papers and arranged on my card front.  Stamped the sentiment and added some dots of Nuvo Crystal drops and glitter glue - Stardust.

My second card I used the fabulous inky/painty background paper - I love this one! Again cut the stitched curve from white card stock and attached to front of 6x6 card blank.  I just added a stamped and embossed sentiment - using my favourite WOW! Embossing pad and Metallic Silver powder.
Wrapped twine around the top of the card and finished with some sequins.

And lastly, I cut a panel of the floral paper, I then used my scalpel to cut all the background paper away around the edges of the flowers.  I cut the stitched curved from several of the background papers and layered them onto the front of my card blank.
I stamped a sentiment and adde some of the butterflies that I cut out.

Essential Sentiments : Thinking of You Stamp Set

Last stamp set!  Introducing Essential Sentiments : Thinking of You Stamp Set...

Another hand drawn flower that I absolutely love!  Its so versatile whether its stamped and embossed, stamped in different colour inks, cut into the petals and curl and shape them, stamped on vellum, stamped on acetate - the results are always fabulous!  Thinking of You another go to sentiment - perfect for get well cards and also for sympathy cards and, well, unfortunately we all need to make them.

My card features the flowers stamped onto vellum and heat embossed using WOW! Embossing Powder : Bright White, cut out and arranged on a tag with an inky background.

You really need to see this card in the flesh, the photograph has not caught the sparkle and shine that Jo Street created stamping onto acetate and adding glitter to the back!  Its absolutely stunning!

Sue Morgan also made this gorgeous card, stamped in black ink, coloured, cut out and curled and shaped then added to the card with some sprigs from Garden Treasures Stamp Set.  Clean and Simple, yet elegant and sophisticated.

Essential Sentiments : Hello Stamp Set

Here's my Essential Sentiments : Hello Stamp Set...

A circle of flowers this time to stamp on your card and add your sentiments to.  Use this set to let someone know you are thinking of them just sending a little hello - make sure they know you care!

Simple black stamping on an inky background, adding heat embossed sentiments in white onto black card stock and a little twine wrapped around the card.

Love that Sue Morgan got her pens out again and stamped and coloured her circles of flowers, adding that Hello in red really pops on her card.

Emma Smith created this beauty by combining the Essential Sentiments : Hello stamp set with the Happy Birthday flower.  Love the stamped and heat embossed sparkly background and oh those vellum flowers are stunning! Look at that gorgeous sparkly Hello too!

Essential Sentiments : Thank You Stamp Set

Next up Essentials Sentiments : Thank You Stamp Set...

Another really useful, reach for it again and again, sentiment : Thank You.  This time you have 2 sprigs of flowers and leaves and when you see some of the amazing inspiration I'm sure you'll be hooked and want to add them to your collection.

I love this inky background created using Tonic Nuvo Aquaflow pens and it was absolutely perfect to use with my Thank You sentiments.  Simply stamped in black ink for maximum impact.  I added some hearts from Rosie Posey and the butterfly from Beautiful Blooms stamp sets - again see how well they all inter mix and match?

It still never ceases to amaze me that when you design something other people see such different ways to use what you have created.

This first card, made by Jo Street shows just how creative you can be with my stamps.  Jo has used my Essential Sentiments : Hello stamp set (up next on the blog) with the Thank You around the outside edge and then a sprinkling of flowers from Heartfelt Wishes stamp set.  Just fabulous!

Essential Sentiments : Happy Birthday Stamp Set

Introducing the first of my Essential Sentiments : Happy Birthday Stamp Sets...

I wanted a range of essential sentiments, ones you will use time and time again. but I wanted to include a main focal design too - so with Happy Birthday you get this gorgeous flower - one of my all time favourite flowers that I have drawn.

So all the sentiments will work with the main Happy Birthday, but you can also chop them about and make your own too.

I created an inky background using Tonic Nuvo Aquaflow pens and then heat embossed using WOW! Embossing Powder : Bright White, adding in a few hearts and sequins from Friendship Blooms Stamp Set.  I heat embossed the sentiments in white onto black card stock making them pop from the inky background.

Now I know this is going to be a really popular stamp set - how? Well by the amount of stunning cards that the Design Team made!!

This stunning card was made by Jo Street - I just love the circle card and the heat embossed flowers in gold look amazing, don't you think?

When I opened the parcel of sample cards from Emma Smith I knew she would make an amazing home decor piece, she always does, but WOW Emma this is simply stunning.  You really need to see it in the flesh as the vellum sparkle embossed flowers are just beautiful and so hard to capture in a photograph.  I love the pop of red with just that one flower!

Rosie Posey Stamp Set

The last of the A6 sized stamp sets is Rosie Posey...

I love roses, you doesn't and again they are so great for so many different occasions too. I included the individual roses indifferent sizes, together with leaves and sprigs so you can create your own arrangements too.  The double lines are great to use to create a frame around your card too and I just adore those sentiments!  The mixture of the fonts just works so well.

I created this card just stamping in grey ink and colouring in using Distress Oxide ink pads and a wet paintbrush.  Repeating the roses in opposite corners and splattering ink in between.  The sentiment is heat embossed using WOW! Embossing Powder : Platinum (my absolute favourite!)

I love the individual roses and how you can create your own backgrounds, adding the tiny hearts and 3 dots between.  Adding a few roses, leaves and sprigs cut out and attached with foam pads to add dimension draws your eye to that fabulous sentiment embossed in white onto black card stock.

I love how Emma Smith coloured her stamped and embossed design, its so elegant. I love her use of the double lines, creating that frame to her card and then picking out the sentiment with colours, drawing your eye to it. Just beautiful.
