Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Designer Spotlight for August!

Hi everyone!
I just can't tell you just how excited I am about being chosen to take part in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Designer Spotlight for August!

The Design Team is featuring products from Concord & 9th this week and the challenge is to Make Your Own Background.

I have used Concord and 9th Just Because clear stamp set, which I thought would be fabulous for creating a background for my card front. What do you think?

So to make the card, firstly I wiped my watercolour card stock with an anti-static bag then began arranging the designs on my card, lining them up in my Misti stamp positioner.  Inked them with my WOW! Embossing pad and sprinkled over their amazing Bright White embossing powder.  Tapped the excess off and heated with my heat tool to melt the powder.

All that beautiful background ready to be inked up!

I choose to use Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads - Blueprint Sketch, Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon. I just love Distress Oxide they are so easy to blend and so many different techniques to use with them.  Applying ink over white embossing has to be one of my favourite techniques!

After I applied the distress ink using a sponge, blending all the colours to give a soft finish, I then cut around some of the white embossed leaves.

On black card stock I heat embossed using white embossing powder my sentiment - don't you just love the sentiments and look at those stunning fonts!!  There is a selection of different smaller plain font sentiments that will work in many different ways with the larger words too.

Once I cut around the leaves, I added glue to the back and attached 3D foam pads to the leaves, ensuring they will stay dimension.  I then stuck this panel to the front of my card.

I added a few iridescent crystals to the card front and I'm done!  Love this card, so pleased with how it turned out.  I'd love to know what you think too!

Up close to see the finer details...

Simon Says Stamp generously provides a $50 dollar gift certificate each week so be sure to get your entry in for a chance to win!  See my blog post on 25th July for full details.

Thank you for joining me, hope you enjoyed the inspiration!
Have a great week and see you next Wednesday 8th August for more fun!

Absolutely GORGEOUS card Julie!! I love how you cut a few of the leaves to pop them up, I thought you had made extras and glued them on, this is a much easier idea! The black sentiment panels look stunning with the white embossed greenery background, so pretty :-)

Thanks so much for agreeing to be in the spotlight! It is a real pleasure to have you along with us!! :-)

My goodness, Julie. This is gorgeous! I love the ink blending over your white embossed images and that pop of black really makes the sentiment stand out. I love that you cut out some of the leaves and popped them up, that’s so clever. I really like the layout of your card as well. Overall this is just a beautiful creation. Wow.
