Hi Everyone!
Welcome back for another...

The Design Team are featuring products from Tim Holtz this week and the challenge is: DISTRESS IT!
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of their post!
You can join 5 times so you could have 5 chances to win! How AWESOME is that!!
All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance to win! Woo Hoo!!
Good Luck to everyone!
So this is what I have made for this weeks challenge...it's called a 'gap card' and my lovely friend Paula Pascual taught me how to make it several years ago. I love it because you have open areas in the front of your card where you can see through to the inside. Its a very clever idea and is a really eye catching design.
First I created some inky backgrounds using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads...
To create my card front I die cut a panel of card in half using Penny Black Curved Stitched die and scored across the top of one piece. I cut the bottom piece down to give me a clear centre panel.
I folded along the scored edge and attached this piece to a panel 4.25" x 5.5" white card stock. Place the bottom piece at the base of card, aligning with bottom edge of back of card.
Using die cut butterflies join the top and bottom panels together...
Continue until centre is filled and you have formed card front, overlapping parts of each butterfly. Open out your card so you do not get glue on inside.
Stamp sentiment on bottom panel and add some sparkle to each butterfly using Tonic Nuvo Aquaflow Shimmer pen...
Up close to see the finer details...
Finish inside of card with another sentiment and a small die cut butterfly...
Hope you like my card today, be sure to go check out all the inspiration on the SSS Wednesday Challenge Blog post for all the talented Design Team!
Can't wait to see what you make too! Good Luck you could win $50 to spend at SSS on-line!
See you next week for a brand new challenge! Julie
