It's a Hoot!

Todays cards feature It's a Hoot template, again at just £3.50, templates are fabulous value for money and look what you can make with them.

I have used the new 'On the Edge' Petal Point card blank and added some of the new Candi.  I have used Ice Parlour papers again.

Up close to see the detail on the Mummy Owl.  I punched circles and layered them up to look like feathers - there is a circle on the template so you could use that instead of a punch.  Everything is edged in Platinum glitter glue - a real favourite of mine.

The second card features the little birds on the template onto an 'On the Edge' Elegant little card (96mm x 96mm).

Coloured the edge of the card and message and, as usual, I glittered around the cut out pieces - my birds.

Up close for the finer details:

Tomorrow my cards feature the Build a Bun template, so be sure to check back and see what I have made.

Hi Julie

I love these birds, I suppose I am going to have to spend more money on craftwork cards lol. Thank you again for the workshop you did at YTOC, I really enjoyed it. The flower I made up from Spikey Flowers and Candi is on my blog if you want to see it http://moulinrougedesigns.blogspot.com/ Elaina

Hi Julie
These cards are gorgeous! I love the subtle shading on them too. I have one question that I hope you may be able to help me with, please can you tell me how you create such a perfect line of glitter around the edges? When I try to do it, I end up with blobs, bits missed etc. I use the stickles too, but must be going wrong somewhere along the line! No pun intended! Is there a knack to it?
Thanks very much and take care

Hi Julie,

Please forgive me but I did laugh when I saw this card as all I could think of was the song ' Two lovely black eye's' lol

The eyes did come over as black on my computer and I think the song maybe well before your time.

Looking forward to seeing you next Sunday.
