These are the last of my handmade birthday cards, I did get lots of gorgeous shop bought cards too!

This card is from Margaret and Brian using the Blossom collection, which was one of my favourites.

Another favourite old collection, Enchanted, thank you Susan for this lovely card.

This amazing bottle was from my Chicago buddies - its black raspberry liqueur and smells/tastes gorgeous. Thank you Sue and Andrew I am going to enjoy this very much!

Lastly is this stunning card from my cousin Sally which she made using her Cricut machine. Sally is very talented - it must run in the family!!!

Hope you have enjoyed seeing all my cards etc and again I want to thank everyone who sent me cards or facebook messages - you made my day really special, thank you.

This lovely bottle of Prosecco (my favourite) arrived with a M&S voucher (off to treat myself!!!) and a big card signed by all my work colleagues up at Leeds. Thank you everyone its really kind of you all.

I got a card from Steve and Leonora - Steve works up at Leeds too. I just want to know who told them!!

My good friends Helena and Ron sent this wonderful tin of handmade biscuits to me. One was specially iced just for me!

This lovely card was from Kath Woods .... Kath made a Christmas decoration for the stand at CHA similar to this one. Loving the colours!!

And Kath also sent me a fabulous box of Montezuma chocolate. Now let me tell you if you have not tried Montezuma chocolate you have to. It is the best dark chocolate I have ever tasted and I have to say NORMALLY I am very good at sharing but Im afraid to say the Montezuma brings out the worst in me and the box is hidden - its just for me!!! Its bad really as there are 3 big bags of chocolate buttons and 4 bars of chocolate, but Im not sharing!

Have you noticed something, just about all my presents are edible and they are not really going to help me loose the 3 stone that I need to!! Matt and Owen also bought me chocolates!! Can you believe this too that I only had my first chocolate on Friday - 2 days after my birthday!

I just wanted to thank everyone who made my big 50th Birthday on Wednesday so special.

I was so lucky when I was demonstrating at The Craft Barn last Saturday.

Lisa Baker bought me this gorgeous box of handmade chocolates, tied with ribbon to match Sweet Meadow - they tasted delicious Lisa I had them yesterday whilst I watch a chick flick!

Gaynor made me this, a die cut layered flower with a lollipop for a centre, how clever is that!

Whilst I was in the shop waiting to pay for some little crafting goodies that made their way into my basket a lady gave me this that she had made. Its a beautiful die cut brooch and you will not believe what its made of - an old drinks can.

Thank you all so much, it really was so kind of you all.

Perfect end to a perfect day

When I got back from The Craft Barn demo day on Saturday, Merv had cooked one of my favourite dishes paella.

We ate it down the garden in the evening sunshine, and yes that is a G&T which I think I deserved after all the demoing of Sweet Meadow.

It was delicious and it really was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came and saw me today at The Craft Barn.

What a fabulous day I had - I was demonstrating with Craftwork Cards latest collection, Sweet Meadow. Now this is very dear to my heart as I drew the flowers and designs which we have turned into a stunning range of papers, embossed and washed papers, messages, ribbon messages, simply elegance, bunting, tags and bunting, even though I say so myself.

Everyone's comments about the collection have been wonderful and to say that you love it too - well it sold out by lunchtime! How amazing is that.

Here are a couple of card ideas, I will post more when I have downloaded the pictures.

Up close to see the details. I have really enjoyed cutting out the flowers, curling and shaping them and layering them up. Then highlight the flowers with glossy accents - a gorgous enamelled finished.

One of the embossed designs, highlighted with Stardust glitter glue. These papers are definately touchy feely papers - you need to get your hands on them.

Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who watched the show yesterday - I really do appreciate it.
Especially as so many of you picked up the phones and ordered to giving me lots of Sell Outs which absolutely made my day.

I was a little nervous to start with but the time just flies by. There was so much I wanted to say and do which I didnt. Next time I hope I will be even better. I had demo's planned for each item but the floor manager just kept waving move on because all the product had sold out.

I didnt even get to show one sample card that I had made for the Create a Flower Pad - next time!

Thank you too for all the amazing comments I have recieved - it means a lot to me.

Cant wait to get back on and do it all again - hopefully it wont be too long.

I am up to Leeds this weekend as I will be demonstrating at Samuel Taylors, Roseville Street, Leeds LS8 5DU.

I will be using the latest collection from Craftwork Cards, Fruit Scoop, I love this collection - not that I dont love them all, but the bright, vibrant fun colours are just gorgeous. I can say that because I picked the colours!

Anyway I will be sharing lots of different ways to use Fruit Scoop between 10am and 4pm so come along and say hi.

Sorry about not posting much recently I have made lots of new card samples but can't share them just now.

Getting excited and nervous about QVC next week, the kits are gorgeous and I am loving what I have made with them.

Looked up on Sky today to see if it mentioned us in the listings for next Monday 9th May and look!!!!

Mother's Day Gifts

How annoying I had scheduled this post and it decided to make it a draft and not post it - sorry!

Well I did make 2 Mother's Day gift baskets and I really love how they turned out.

They are so difficult to photograph though and show you just how great they look.
I didn't end up filling them with chocolates, I put hand wash, shower gel and some sweets in each one.

Just hope my Mum loves hers

and Merv's Mum loves her one

I love this ribbon it is printed with little hearts and 'with love' - just perfect.

When I was at Your Touch of Crafts a few weeks ago they had displayed a beautiful looking basket/container and it really caught my eye. The lovely Kay gave me a sample of one to take home after explaining how to make it.

Well it is so simple but looks fabulous when made and decorated.

Take one sheet of 12x12 - well actually it can be any size just needs to be square and you will obviously end up with different sized baskets.

Score at 10cm on all four sides of the sheet. Then score diagonally across the four corner squares, as above.

You need to punch two holes in each corner square.

Now decorate the squares with patterned papers and embellishments. Thread ribbon through the holes in each corner and tie to secure. This is what it can look like ....

Wouldn't it look wonderful full of chocolates for a Mother's Day gift!!

Im off to make 2 right now. I will post pictures of them later.

The latest range from Craftwork Cards is Tres Chic and had a little play and this is what I made ....

Made from the blank flower pots I bought from The Craft Barn, which I covered in Tres Chic papers.
The flowers are one of the spiral roses, a pinwheel and lastly Julie's Scruffy flowers.

This would make a lovely Mother's Day gift - everlasting flowers!

It is a shop bought frame with Warren inside. I then made Julie's Scruffy Flowers for around the edge of the frame and sprinkled in some Candi. Im so please with how it turned out.

This is another card that I have made for Harrogate show. It was an idea from Sue and this is my take on it.

Tiny daisy punch with Candi in the centres, then buttons and tags hanging below.
Again I really love how this card turned out, the simplicity of it is gorgeous, well I think so anyway!

Im off in the morning to Leeds for The Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza Show at Harrogate on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March.

I have been busy making lots of samples and as promised said I would share some pictures with you.

Today is a card made using Ice Cream Parlour papers, some of my favourite. I have combined them with lots of the tiny sentiments, covering some of them and adding some punched daisies. The heart in the centre is from the Perfect Petals 1 template. The card blank is an 'On the Edge' Petal Point with dots of coloured glitter glue to give a lacy effect.

I love this card, I love the colours the simplicity, infact everything about it. Hope you love it too!

Great Northern Papercraft Extravaganza

This weekend, 19th and 20th March, is the Great Northern Papercraft Extravaganza Show at The Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate. Doors open 10am to 4.30pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday (disabled access from 9:30am both days).

Busy getting ready for the show, making lots of samples to share and a few projects too.
This is a sneak peak at one of them, which I really love.

Several people have asked about the glitter glue and how I get it so fine. I will write a post, as soon as I can with some hints and tips. So check back in a few days.

Build a Bun

I got creative with the Build a Bun template today and I'm really pleased with how the cards turned out, really bright and colourful, just as birthday cards should be!

This first card is using the 'On the Edge' Scallop card blank (148mm x 148mm) and I added punched flowers to each scallop with Candi centres.

My second card, I cut around the cake shape and turned it into a shaped card. Folded paper to look like ribbon and lots of orange peel glitter glue.

It's a Hoot!

Todays cards feature It's a Hoot template, again at just £3.50, templates are fabulous value for money and look what you can make with them.

I have used the new 'On the Edge' Petal Point card blank and added some of the new Candi. I have used Ice Parlour papers again.

Up close to see the detail on the Mummy Owl. I punched circles and layered them up to look like feathers - there is a circle on the template so you could use that instead of a punch. Everything is edged in Platinum glitter glue - a real favourite of mine.

The second card features the little birds on the template onto an 'On the Edge' Elegant little card (96mm x 96mm).

Coloured the edge of the card and message and, as usual, I glittered around the cut out pieces - my birds.

Tempting Templates

I am going to feature a few cards I have made using Craftwork Cards range of templates.

Today is the Corsage Template

Templates are fantastic value for money, at only £3.50, you can use them time and time again and with whatever papers you have, love or want!

My cards feature Ice Cream Parlour, a beautiful double sided 12x12 paper in 6 yummy colours.

Sorry about the funny angle of this card, trying to show the inside as well and it didn't really work. I have used the new 'On the Edge' Elegant card blank - I love, love, love these.

My second card is made using just the lilac papers, a new notched tag (love these too!) and I filled the centre of the flower with Candi made into a 'rose'.

Fabulous Day

I had a fabulous day at Your Touch of Crafts on Saturday 5th March. A big THANK YOU to Kay, John and Rosena for making me feel so welcome and looking after me so well.

Thank You to Wendy too, the Master Baker, for the fabulous cakes - Merv really enjoyed his bit of Coffee and Walnut cake, thank you.

Suezie - I didnt realise you took so many pictures, it was probably a good job I didnt know!! It was lovely to see you, especially as you are not really very well and thank you for sharing lots of my ideas on the blog.

It is always such a pleasure to demonstrator with Craftwork Cards products and to share my ideas and all the customers were so eager to see more and more. Thank you for coming to the demo and making it such a lovely day for me too.

Hope to see you all again soon - scones, cream and jam in the summer sounds like a great idea to me!

I am really sorry not to have posted for so long, life has been very hectic, been away lots with work, dont know where the time goes - anyway I am back with a card to share.

Using Craftwork Cards new Warren collection with the new 'On the Edge' Elegant cards. I love these new cards, especially the little ones - just 96mm x 96mm.

I cut Warren out and coloured him with Copic pens, really enjoyed colouring again - had to invest in some more colours too! Add a sprinkling of Stardust glitter glue and he looks gorgeous.

I absolutely love, love, love the Cottontail paper pack that goes with Warren, the softest pink, blue and silver grey - stunning colour combination.

Team it with the new dotty Candi in Hush-a-bye and Ritz and you have the pink, blue and silver grey with white dots on.

Hope you like Warren too!

Mum wanted me to say a big Thank You to Paula who recently sent her a box of crafting goodies to go towards making her cards to raise money for St Catherine's hospice.

You will also know that Kath and Susan recently filled my car boot with crafting goodies for Mum and Debbie sent 3 huge bin bags full of bits for Mum.

Well Mum had what she wanted from Debbie's bags, Kath & Susan's stash and Paula's box and then put the rest up for donations at craft clubs she goes to. She raised £93 which is brilliant, so thank you to everyone who made a donation and of course a big Thank You to Debbie, Kath & Susan and Paula.

It was great to see everyone at Stamparama, Stevenage on Sunday and to show you the new Botanical collection, which I absolutely adore. The gorgeous colour combination is so fresh and clean and I love that you can colour the white papers to make them whatever colour you want.

If you have not seen the Botanical collection yet, click here.

The colour me pack of flower designs is brilliant, again colour them any colour you want so that they match the Botanical papers or some other papers you may already have.

They look fabulous layered up onto the scallop rectangles and finished off with some glitter glue. Try adding some glitter glue to your papers too, looks fantastic!

This is a card I made to send to a friend for her birthday, I punched a hole in the paper and added an in circle message inside.

Leaving on a jet plane

Don't know when I'll be back again!

I do really - in a weeks time. I'm off to Los Angeles to attend CHA the huge trade fair in America with Sue, Rich, Andrew and Jayne from Craftwork Cards. I haven't been for a couple of years so it will be lovely to go again and see all the wonderful new products and ideas.

It's really exciting though because we have a stand at the show too, we will be exhibiting with Candi (our new name for Card Candy).

I have been busy making samples for the show and if you check out Craftwork Cards blog you will see lots of them featured over the next few days. We will also post updates from the show so be sure to keep up with all the latest news every day.

Wish us luck, lets hope the American's love Candi as much as we do!

When I was at Skipton on Saturday at the weekend, demonstrating for Samuel Taylor, two friends came over to see me, Kath and Susan. They asked if my boot was empty - well I ddint even have my car with me as Sue had driven me to Skipton. Anyway they had had a craft clear out and wanted to give me some bits for my Mum to use for her card making raising money for charity.

There were so many boxes and bags full of goodies - I have to tell you all Mum lives in a 1 bedroom flat and she does not have lots of spare space - except perhaps where crafting goodies are concerned!!

Anyway I just wanted to say a Big Thank You to Kath and Susan for even thinking of Mum.

An update too - Debbie sent Mum lots of gorgeous goodies recently and when Mum had sorted through and selected what she would use she then took what was left to a craft club and raised £36 from members donating to the charity for their goodies. So thank you again Debbie for all the bits and pieces.

Lovely Weekend

A big thank you to everyone who came to see me demonstrating at Samuel Taylors at the weekend, either at Skipton or Brighouse. It was so lovely to share my ideas with so many of you.

I want to Thank Tricia, Katy, Virginia and everyone else at Skipton, who made me feel so welcome. If you visit the Skipton shop be sure to treat yourself in the coffee shop, I had some fabulous leek and potato soup served by the lovely Flick - thank you.

Christine and Jo also looked after me so well on Sunday at Brighouse. It was really busy in the shop, lots of enthusiastic crafters wanting to learn how to make all the cards I had on display. Lots of crafting friends came in to see me, which was really great. One lady, Kath, bought me a gorgeous shaped mug covered in daisy design flowers. It was so kind of Kath, especially as it was her Birthday yesterday - hope you had a lovely afternoon with your family and thank you again for my beautiful mug - which I christened today.

Hero Chair

Before Christmas I got my hands on the new Hero Arts catalogue, Thank You to Bryan at the Glitter Pot for saving me a copy! I love the Hero catalogue, its worth getting just for the ideas.

Of course, I could not leave the shop without buying some of the new stamps could I! So I had the set with the chairs, table, lamp, chanderlier and messages.

Using some very old papers that I have, this was the result.

Up close to see the finer details. I coloured the chair with Copic markers, cut it out and layer it onto the card.

I think it would make a lovely retirement card and done in the right colours a great card for a man too. The message is lovely too, Just sitting here thinking of you. Perfect for lots of occasions, Birthday, just to say Hello, a Christmas card with Christmas bits on the table.
This is another card I made, again coloured with Copic markers and using some very old Chatterbox papers that I have had forever.

I stamped on patterned paper this time, so a tartan chair. I think this would be a great card for a man, just want to scan a whisky bottle and put it on the table!

Hero words

When I bought some of the new Hero Art stamps I also bought the 4 text ones. I love text stamps and this mix of Friend, Thank You, Birthday and Hello are all ones I would use on cards. Lots of people love an old stamp that I have used on lots of cards that says Friend, well its not made anymore, but these would be great instead.

I have created a few cards, again using some very old Chatterbox papers with the stamps. Very simple but I love the end results.

Yummy Scrummy with some stamped flowers, used with orange ritzy cardstock.

An elegant rectangle card in orange with dark chocolate flowers made by covering retro blooms and cut out of the patterned papers. Card Candy frames the mini oval message.

Latte papers with mint papers, retro bloom covered in dark chocolate papers.

Marshmallow and latte papers mixed up with some Copic coloured owls. Love the card in each of the scallops on the card.

My last card, and now for something completely different. A stamped, spritzed, inked and ribbon tied tag. A glimmer mist flower with bling centre and ribbon tied hat pins. Little flower charms tied to card with ribbon. So different from my normal style but I love it.

A favourite Workshop card, I joined 4 elegant rectangles together to create this card. Olive and red - Tis the Season, what a lovely traditional combination with a contemporary twist.

Blossom papers turned into pretty windmills. These flowers are much easier made using Ice Cream Parlour as its a double sided paper. To make this I stuck 2 papers together to make them double sided and they were too thick really, but I love the colour combo and the result.

Little bunting made using Perfect Petal Template 1 again.

My favourite Vintage Rose card that I made. The flowers are made using the Patchwork Pieces template with snips into the shape to create a flower. That was Sue's idea - thanks Sue.

A take on a card that Debbie Pincher designed, my version with little envelopes attached on the side. See picture below for inside the card.

The envelopes are filled with tags for special messages or gift vouchers, money, whatever you want.

Soft pastel cards using Sugared Almonds. I love bunting and when I was demonstrating during the summer a customer (sorry I've forgotten your name) pointed out that the triangle on my Perfect Petal Template 1 was ideal to use for bunting - Why had I not thought of that!!
This was the result.

Sugared Almonds cut into 6 little squares and embellished with a mini elegant square, message and flower. So simple.

Shaped cards - our mini elephant turned into cards.

Mummy elephant template used to create this colourful card.

Blossom spots turned into my Scottie Dog card with flowers and messages.

My Mind's Eye papers used to create a fun owl card. Love the In Circle eyes!

Starting with some stamped cards today. A Hero Arts butterfly that I coloured with Copics using Ultra Smooth Digital Cardstock, which is a MUST if you colour with Copics or Pro-markers.

Same Butterfly stamp, cut around one of them and lifted the wings.

This time I coloured in using pinks and browns.

Glitz and Glamour papers mixed up with Sugar and Spice. The papes where punched out and I have added a heart and a flower and Card Candy.

Just Sugar and Spice on this card, 9 sqaures and gorgeous heart shaped flowers made using my Perfect Petal template.

A circle card, I was inspired by Kath Stewart and Lynda Morland when I made this card. I loved colouring the die cut umbrella with just glitter glues in different colours.

Flowers made using my Perfect Petal 2 template.

Another elegant rectangle card sprinkled with retro blooms. I covered cardstock ones with patterned papers and added ribbon tied buttons to the centres.

Romance cards, in hot pink, red and grey, what a wonderful colour combination.
You may or may not know but I love all things hearts, so this card makes me smile.

I have featured a card with this tree design on before in my Favourite Cards, but I love it just in pink too!

I love this flower punch but was so so disappointed by I discovered it does not punch out completely, it only punches the petals. If it punched completely everyone would own one - do you think Martha Stewart reads my blog - if you are reading this please make this daisy completely punch out!

You can't beat a bit of grey with a splash of ruby red!

Some Ooh La La cards today, I love these papers too, so different for us at Craftwork Cards, but just gorgeous.

I used one of the die cut shapes and threaded a tag through.

Cut a panel from front of card and added die cut tickets all down the edge.

A stamped card using Paula's gorgeous flower stamps. I created a background using all different sizes of the flowers and added a die cut stamped message. The envelope and inside of the card all match.

Well done Mum

I just wanted to say Well Done to my Mum, between Christmas and the New Year I posted a letter for her to Saint Catherine's Hospice, she told me that it would make £4,000 that she has sent them from the sales of her handmade cards. I think it's absolutely brilliant - Im so proud of her.

Today would have been my Dad's 80th Birthday. Mum is spending the day with us, having lunch and no doubt making some more cards.

Glitz and Glamour with some Little Boy Blue mixed in. Cool, crisp and clean.

Ok this is not a card, but I fell in love with this mannequin and many more! I used Romance papers to create the dress with spikey flowers.

Next a card made using My Mind's Eye papers - cant remember the name of the collection, sorry. My favourite card design, 9 squares, yet again. I just love how 9 squares of patterned paper can look so different when different papers are used.

Another My Mind's Eye card, using some of the punched daisies I made for my Blog header. I coloured these with Copics. I love the result so much.

Last card for today, more My Mind's Eye papers and this time a card that would be great for a man. Never easy to make!

One of my favourite collections this year was, Ice Cream Parlour. I love the colours and the gorgeous designs they are so easy to create lovely cards with.

This time Ice Cream Parlour with a doily wrapped around the card.

Flowers made using my Perfect Petal 3 template.

I used a screw punch to create lots of holes in my doily for this card and cut sections away with my craft knife. Fiddly but I love how it turned out.

My latest Confetti picture which I really love

I cant remember whose papers these are, the butterfly punch is a Martha Stewart punch.

I love this Martha Stewart elephant punch and I love how this card turned out.

A circle punched tree made using Blossom range of papers, sprinkled with Card Candy.

Confetti Birds

I recently made this string of birds, well actually they are attached to a length of ribbon rather than string.

I covered Craftwork Cards chipboard birds with some of the Confetti papers. Added some ribbon threaded buttons and flowers made by layering 2 petal point flowers together.

Both sides of the bird are covered and decorated so that when they swing around they look lovely from both sides.

Fun with Copics

I have never tried colouring embossed frames with Copic pens but I love the results. Pro-Markers will give the same results.

Take one plain mini frame and stamp it. I then coloured the empty flowers with Copic markers and added some glitter glue.

Again I cut an aperture using a cutter and added a message to the inside of the card.

More cards using some old favourtie products from Craftwork Cards, this time, embossed cardstock.

My all time favourite card design, 9 squares of embossed cardstock, 3 wrapped with ribbon and a message added to the centre.

The only decoration is some Stardust Glitter Glue to highlight the embossed patterns.

This card, the embossed cardstock has been inked using Versa Magic.

Up close to show the punched scallop circle with an in circle in the centre. Everything has been highlighted with gllitter glue.

Old Favourites

I have been making samples using some of my old favourite products from Craftwork Cards, embossed frames.

I coloured the frame using dry chalks, then covered some with Glossy Accents. Add some tied ribbon and a message and attach to an elegant shaped cards.

Another frame idea, again colour with dry chalks and some glitter glue added for some sparkle.

Up close, I punched a scallop circle out and coloured it with the same colour dry chalk, added an in circle message, punhced a hole and tied with ribbon.

Lastly one more frame coloured this time with ink pads - Versa Magic. I cut an aperture in the front of an elegant card using my Fiskars cutter - its so easy.

Up close, I added some card candy to the large flower and glitter glue to the other centres.

Homemade

These are a couple of handmade presents that I have put in the post to some friends, hopefully Royal Mail will get it to them in time. I made the decorated felt hearts and Mum knitted the scarves. Hope they like them. I have been totally inspired by Sarah over at Paper and String, a gorgeous blog about her felt company. So I thought I would have a little go myself and I love how they turned out. I used my Tim Holtz die for the flowers and added some buttons. Another friend has a mini heart on her present with a silver charm on it.

This is the other colour combination that is also in the post.

I have added some of these homemade sweet treats to the parcels which I hope they will enjoy too.

My card idea for today again uses the new Confetti Collection. Simple but effective.

I cut the edges off the mini elegant squares and added them either side of the panel of paper attached down the centre of the card. Two Petal Point flowers layered together, one ice cream and one marshmallow with Latte Card Candy in the centre.

Santa has arrived!

I recently bought some gorgeous wire heart shaped baskets and this one has been filled with little chocolate santa's. I'm sure they won't be there for long with my boys around! But hey it is Christmas.

This is my take on Debbie's card using the beautiful new Confetti Collection and the new style Back2Basics card - Top Notch.

Confetti Inspired

I'm sure that most of you that read my blog also read Craftwork Cards blog and if you don't then you should. So this is a link to it.

My picture, Inspire, is featured on there today, with an explanation of how I made the elements featured on it. It features our latest collection, Confetti, a gorgeous mix of marshmallow, latte and ice cream which has been so popular in the past. The papers in the collection have 6 stunning designs foiled in either white or gold, I have used white for my picture, together with the beautiful new flower shapes, mini elegant squares and scallop doilies (I have not used any of those on my picture).

I have really enjoyed making some papercrafting projects recently, instead of cards. I love how this turned out and I have since found 2 more shadow frame boxes that I want to transform now.

Up close to see some of the finer details of one of the embellishments on the picture.

Inspire is made from our lowercase chipboard letters cover in the papers and decorated with daisies, my favourite as you all know. I choose 'inspire' because thats what I hope I do to other card makers.

I also have a thing for hearts and love this little crystal encrusted one. Below are some of my Scruffy Flowers which are so easy to make (see Craftwork Cards Blog for details). They look so delicate made from the white foiled papers.

The banner at the bottom is missing a 'Friend' in circle message but I can't find one anywhere, it will be added later.

Just need to think of some other words now for the next 2 frames. What do you think?

I have just spent 2 lovely days with my Mum. I was off to demonstrate up in Chorley, Lancashire and she came along for the ride. We stayed over on Friday night, just at a Premier Inn with a lovely pub attached. So we had a nice meal out together and then left bright and early to head back to Chorley for the demonstration.

I have to Thank everyone who ventured out in the cold to come and see me demo, it was so good to introduce so many new people to Craftwork Cards range of gorgeous goodies.

A big thank you to Louise's Mum who kept both Mum and I so well supplied with hot coffee's throughout the day.

I was so touched that one of our lovely customers, Betty came to see me, especially as she is spending the day with me next Saturday at Yuletide Fun in Leeds - our Christmas workshop at Craftwork Cards. Betty came on the bus, she didnt tell me she was coming she wanted it to be a surprise and spent several hours with us.

Later in the afternoon I had another surprise when in walked Kath and Susan. I was not expecting to see them and it was so nice as Kath had sent my Mum lots of cards she had made to sell for Mum's charity and Mum got the chance to put a face to her name.

We left around 4pm to travel home, the motorways were very kind to us and we got home before 9pm which was really good.

Really looking forward to next Saturday for Yuletide Fun day at Leeds. Lots of wonderful things planned so all you lucky ladies that are attending you are in for a great day.

I had a super day yesterday at Imagine That in Upminster, Essex demonstrating, sharing ideas and tips using all the Craftwork Cards range of goodies, especially the Ooh La La collection.

I have known Emma, who owns Imagine That, for about 6 years or so now. I used to see Emma at shows with her friend Emma and then she and Emma came to a Card Making Weekend down in Worthing that we ran years ago. If you have not been to her shop you really should, its so light and airy and spacious, very clean and simple lines and full of gorgeous things. So many beautiful samples displayed everywhere and I loved how she showed whats in her classes.

Lots of ladies that I knew popped in to say hi and I met alot of new ladies too. I learn a great tip from a lady called Viv, now she wanted me to be sure to say that she did not think of this idea but that she had seen someone demonstrating with the Perfect Petal template. What Viv shared with me was that if when using a Perfect Petal template to make flowers if you trace around the petals on the right side of your paper creating little stitch marks rather than a continuous line, then cut the petals out slightly larger and you have stitched petals ready to be assembled. I love this idea and it was one of those "why didnt I think of that" moments!

Leandra from Paperartsy was there too with her stunning artwork, she is so talented and such a lovely person and it was so nice to see her. I particularly loved a picture that she had made which was one of the projects on her special Artsycrafts weekends that she runs with Linda Brown from LB Crafts. I really must try and get to one of the weekends soon!

Thank you to all the girls and Emma's Mum for looking after me so well, so many welcoming cups of tea and coffee. I hope to come and visit again very soon.

More Christmas ideas

So this is the second design, it is an old favourite embossed card from Craftwork Cards that they did a few years ago. A simple crystal added and one of Paula's Christmas messages with a couple of snowflakes. I also put a stamped JOY onto the Tim Holtz die cut shape inside the card.

Look how many I have made, its a real quick and easy design.

Tried to do the whole card, but it was getting dark and you cant even see the crystal in the embossed snowflake but its there, I promise.

Im sure I will have to make some more cards but its a start, infact for me its a very good start.

Christmas Cards

This is unheard of - I have made 60+ Christmas cards this weekend and today I wrote some of them too! Usually Im making them 2 days before the last posting date for 2nd class post!

I have only made really quick and easy cards in two different designs.

The first one a 'z' fold card with some red Trim the Tree or Tis the Season paper, Paula's JOY stamp die cut onto a Tim Holtz shape. A stamped message and flowers inside.

Just to show I had stamped and made a lot of cards!

Even the envelopes have been stamped to match.

Tried to show the whole card, but missed some of the greeting inside.

Last of my cards made with Paula's flower stamps today. The stamp set featured is: Filled with Flowers.

Randomly stamped onto card blank using a very soft pink ink pad. The flowers have been highlighted with Stardust Glitter Glue.

Up close for the finer details. I die cut the shape and stamped a message inside. The die cut is a Quick Kutz Cookie Cutter that I got ages ago from The Art of Craft. I coloured the frame with ink pad and glitter glued it.

Simple Flowers

Today I used Paula's Simple Flowers set:

I stamped all over some Back2Basics cardstock to create my own background using orange ink.
I die cut the shape and stamped a message inside. I even stamped the envelope to match!

I then created the same design but this time in brown.

I have used my favourite Glitter Glue to decorate both cards, the orange one with orange and the brown one with Platinum.

Again everything was stamped onto Craftwork Cards Back2Basics cards as they are simply the best! Did you know that they have just bought out a new shape, Top Notch, and I love them. I will make some cards using them and post very soon.

Been playing

Paula bought me some of her gorgeous new stamps for my birthday back in July and I have been having a little play with them recently, I have a different card for the next 3 days.

Firstly I have used this stamp set, Filled with Flowers:

Stamped one of the flowers across the front of the card using Momento ink pads in soft green. I then die cut the shapes, embossed one and stamped a message on the other, sprinkling the flowers around.

Inside the card, I stamped a message for another of Paula's sets and sprinkled with flowers.

I also stamped the envelope to match but forgot to photograph that. The flowers have dots of Stardust glitter glue on them to add some sparkle.

I stamped onto Craftwork Cards Back2Basics card blanks which are ultra smooth and just brilliant to stamp straight onto.

Scottie Dog

I love our Scottie Dog template and it makes a gorgeous shaped card, something a little different.

I thought I would make a Christmas version, so here it is, using Trim the Tree in Pink and Black.

Trace around the template onto cardstock and cut it out, repeat so you have two. Score 1" in from the left on one of the scottie dog shapes. Apply glue to the scored area and place the 2nd scottie dog on top to create the card. I made my dog a blanket and collar and added an in circle message for a dog tag. Card Candy has been placed in the centre of the flowers on the patterned paper. She is then edged in pink glitter glue!

Sorry I know it is ages since I last posted, but here are some of the cards I have been working on recently.

Today I will share some ideas I created using the Jack Frost range of papers in cream and gold and embellishments.

This card is made using elegant rectangles joined together to make a card and decorated with Trim the Tree die cut sheets. I have used the contemporary looking trees upside down as baubles. I first saw this idea at a workshop with the Card Studio and thought how clever it looked, so this is my take on a fab idea.

Our stylish elegant square cards with a small panel of Jack Frost across the front and two flowers made from red pearlescent papers. Simples but effective!

Lastly an easel card made using one of our 8x8 cards as the base and a 6x6 cut in half and used for the front of the card. Covered with Jack Frost and a die cut from Tis the Season. I also added some snowflakes that I covered in my favourite glitter glue, Platinum. Card Candy is brilliant to use as the stop to make the easel card stand up.

This Saturday I will be at The Card Studio's Card Making event being held at Ashford International Hotel,

Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford TN24 8UX, which is just 5 minutes from M20.

Everyone is welcome to come and see me demo Craftwork Cards Christmas products from 10am through to 1pm. Jayne and her team will have a shop on sight so you can treat yourself too!

In the afternoon I am running a workshop for the ladies booked on the Card Making weekend using the new Ice Cream Parlour papers and Ooh La La collection. Really looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing my card making ideas.

Im not going to give lots of excuses as to why I have not posted for so long, almost a month to the day, I just havent.

Today I'm off to Ally Pally for the Big Stamp and Scrapbook show to set up, now I dont normally get involved in the set up on Friday but Sue and Rich are at an awards ceremony - Sue has been shortlisted for the Forward Ladies Woman in Buisiness Awards 2010...

The Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards, sponsored by the Met Hotel recognise the achievements of business women in Yorkshire and Humberside. The afternoon event will be a celebration of female-led businesses in 9 different categories, culminating in the Business Woman of the Year award at the end of the ceremony. Each award category has a shortlist of high achieving women all vying for the top spot.

The cateorgy that Sue is shortlisted for is Manufacturing Business Woman of the Year - fingers crossed she will win!

Im looking forward to showing all the gorgeous new goodies that we have - Ooh La La, Ice Cream Parlour and more, be sure to stop by and say hello.

Happy Birthday Gill!

I made this birthday card for my lovely friend Gill. I sent it to her early as I would be away in Arizona on her actual birthday.

Well I should have known Gill can not resist opening packets, parcels etc, even though I wrote on the jiffy bag for her to keep it until today! Naughty, naughty!

I used some 12x12 papers and folded the bottom up inside to create a pocket. I used my sewing machine and stitched as much as I could.

I then filled the pockets with goodies, a small notebook attached to a tag and a glue bottle slipped into a tag, decorated with die cut flowers with gorgeous centres from Hobby House.

Sue and I leave for Creative Escape in Arizona today. Everything starts on Thursday but on Wednesday we will be going on a bus tour to Bazzill Paper warehouse! and then onto a Scrapbooking store which will be very interesting.

Workshops all day Friday and Saturday, eight in total, it will be so nice to be a customer sitting on the other side of the table.

Feel sure we will be totally inspired and full of wonderful ideas to bring back to you all.

Sunday - Stamparama Stevenage

The show was lovely and busy and it was so nice to see lots of familar faces and of course all the new ladies too. The day flew by and before we knew it it was time to pack up!

Our new Christmas ranges went down really well, as did the new designs for the embossed frames and the new My Mind's Eye papers flew - we thought they would. If you didnt get to the show they are on-line to buy - the images of the papers dont show them off to their best as some have glittering on them and it is beautiful.

Saturday - Vintage Goodwood

WOW my day out with Sue for my Birthday was amazing! I loved every minute of it and I want to go next year but glamp (posh camping) next time, hopefully lots of us it will be really great fun.

When we arrived you followed the fairy lights through the woods

It was a festival to celebrate the last 50 years of Fashion, Music, Art and Food and there was so much to do and see it was just brilliant. The attention to detail was outstanding and it was a real feel good experience, remembering lots of the things that we saw "Do you remember ..... " "I had one of those, yes so did I" It was just great.

They had built a High Street which was amazing 2 storey shop fronts. Here are a couple:

There were lots of different areas for music. Rock N Roll:

with some great dancers, some dress up some not:

and I thought this guy on the left looked brilliant, turned out to be Luke Morgan who had organised the whole of the Rock N Roll area!

The Warehouse

The Jazz tent, this had a very posh restaurant all around the edge of the stage where you could have a very nice meal and listen to the music, which was brilliant:

Next time we are dressing up too!

We saw Alvin Stardust on stage and he really entertained and had us all jigging about in no time.

The weather was kind with only 2 short sharp down pours which did not spoil it for us at all.

There were Hair and Make Up girls walking around doing members of the public up.

They had a bus with Peter Blake's artwork and we even saw him being interviewed by the tv.

The attention to detail everywhere was absolutely amazing, well done to everyone who had a part in Vintage at Goodwood.

We watched Martha & the Vandellas in the evening and then made our way to Stevenage so that we would be ready to set up the stand on Sunday morning ready for the show.

I would recommend this festival to anyone as there was so much to do and see.

PS: We leave for Creative Escape in 4 days time!

Friday at The Glitter Pot

I had a lovely day at the Glitter Pot last Friday teaching workshops. It's the first time I have been to the new shop and it really is BIG!! Lots of lovely crafting goodies on offer, I especially liked the wall at the end, full of Craftwork Card products!

The workshop room is fantastic, lots of room to move around, lots of lovely work surface to use, very light and airy too. Really great.

I had some new ladies on the workshop which is always nice, its my chance to show them all the Craftwork Card goodness. One lady had even come all the way from Cheltenham and was staying over night in a B&B so she would be back on Saturday to have a workshop with Jane Gill, which Im sure she will have enjoyed too - it was lovely to meet you Sue. As it was lovely to meet all the new ladies and see my familar ladies too.

Im back demonstrating at The Glitter Pot on Saturday 4th September - hope Im over the jet lag by then as I only get back from America on the Tuesday. I will be using all the new Christmas ranges so come and say hi.

This was one of the cards the ladies made which they all really enjoyed.

Busy week

Got a busy week this week, Im at The Glitter Pot for a workshop on Friday 13th August (didnt realise it was Friday the 13th when I booked it!!). We will be using the gorgeous Vintage Rose and Blossom collections from Craftwork Cards with lots of lovely bits thrown in!

On Saturday Sue and I are off out for the day - no idea where I'm going its my Birthday surprise from Sue. I will let you know where we went later.

Sunday is Stamparama at Stevenage Leisure Centre. I love this show - it's really busy, just the one day and everyone is so friendly and so excited to be there seeing all the lovely crafty things.

I will be demonstrating with the new Christmas ranges - which I love - so be sure to stop and say hi (looking forward to seeing you Tina!).

Here is one of the cards I made using the Trim the Tree collection.

I cut the snowflakes from the papers and layered them up in the two colours to create my own Christmas embellishments. Love the purple Card Candy for the centres.

Happy Birthday Sue!

I just wanted to wish my best friend, Sue, a very Happy Birthday!

I will probably get into trouble for this but never mind.

I would share a picture of her card that I made her, only problem is that I had wrapped it up and packed it in a box, which was then wrapped and taken to the post office and sent by Special Delivery so that it would arrive on time before I realised I had not taken any photos! I will ask Nikki to do a picture so I can show you all. I was very pleased with it.

This is one that we made at a workshop in Leeds recently. A real summery feel to it with the windmills made from the Blossom collection. I love the colour combo - the pink, gold with the Ritzy Cognac - just lovely.
