Christmas Event

There are just a few spaces left at the Craftwork Cards Christmas Event.

This is going to be a wonderful day full of crafting fun, its on Saturday 5th December at The Village Hotel, South Leeds (a beautiful hotel) and starts at 9am through to 5pm.

In the morning we will be creating cards (not Christmas) using all the beautiful new products about to be launched on the website, be sure to take a look tomorrow!!!

You can then indulge yourself in a gorgeous 3 course carvery Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.

The afternoon is going to be brilliant and I so want to make what you are making for me as its Tote-tastic!!

So if you would like to join this fabulous day, just
click here to see more details and to book your seat!

Heres a card to enjoy too!

Using the Touch of Glamour stamp set, I created a background and then stamped a chandelier onto a scallop oval.

Inside the card I attached 2 elegant card wraps, joined together top and bottom so that it created a pocket to slide a black tag into. Would be a good way to give money or a gift voucher too.

I told you!

I did tell you that it would not last!! But I do have an excuse as to why I have not posted any cards yet, I was away at Dawn Bibby's residential weekend from Friday through to Sunday night.

Travelled home on Sunday, bought a lady called Denise home with me as she had broken her arm (not at the weekend before when she was on holiday) and she was going home on the train - so I offered her a lift. It was great for me too as it was someone to keep me company and talk to me all the way home. It was lovely we talked constantly about all sorts of things.

We set off home at 6pm, travelled about 30 miles and hit a huge traffic jam - we did 2 miles in an hour and a half! I finally got home at 20 to 1 on Monday morning! I was absolutely shattered.

The weekend was great 72 crafters, Dawn really knows how to work them - they were two fun filled days full of lovely projects to make. There was a lovely dinner on Saturday night and one of the girls from Dawn's shop sung a song that she had written about all the staff - it was just brilliant. Well done Jackie you are a very talented lady. There was a disco and lots of people got dancing, including Dawn and Craig from QVC who made a guest appearance on Saturday and stayed until Sunday night. He was great fun and spent so much time with every single person on the weekend.

On Sunday they visited the shop where some of us were demoing and then it was back to the hotel, a quick lunch and then on with the make n take and tips and techniques tables. People went from table to table learning new things and making lovely projects.

Everyone had a great time.

Because I have been away I had not been able to add the comments to the blog, which is why so many people think they were the first to comment re the blog candy. I will pull a winner next Tuesday the 1st December so you still have time to leave some comments.

I will sort out some cards and get posting again very soon, hopefully tomorrow.

Thank you for the lovely comments that have been left so far.

Colour-Me 7

Last of my Colour-Me ideas today, and yes I managed to post a card everyday, I hope you are all impressed!! You need to leave me comments and let me know which is your favourite card!

The Colour-Me owls have my attention today, coloured with Copic markers and layered onto Monochromagic papers. I coloured the In Circle message to match and have decorated the owls with glitter glue, but it doesnt show.

Change the colour of the owls to pink, purple, orange, red, green whatever you want to suit the lucky person receiving the card.

Hope you have enjoyed another full week of card ideas!

Colour-Me 6

This card uses the Colour-Me Here Come the Girls which are all die cut (so much easier than cutting them out).

Coloured with Copic markers and layered onto card that has been covered in Monochromagic papers. Coloured the white daisy one in the centre, added a beautiful butterfly and my favourint In Circle messages.

Colour-Me 5

Using our new Birthday Damask design by Paula Pascual, comes foiled in black onto shimmer white cardstock.

I have added colour to me elements using Copic markers, added a Best of British Lots of Dots background and one of my beautiful butterflies.

I love the simplicity of this card.

Dawn's for the Weekend

Im off to Dawn Bibby's for her residential weekend in the morning.

I have not been before, not even to Dawn's shop so that will be really good to see.

Im helping on Saturday and then demoing Craftwork Cards products at the shop Sunday morning and doing a Make and Take at the residential weekend in the afternoon.

My good friend Paula Pascual is going to be there too, which will be lovely as its ages since I saw her and we are both staying at Dawn's house so I get to meet the dogs and goats too!

Hope to see lots of you at the shop, have a great weekend.

Colour-Me 4

Another card idea using the Colour-Me Collection ovals with the Best of British Lots of Dots papers.

Cut 4.5cm squares of patterned paper and attach to card. Add Card Candy to each corner of the squares. Colour the Beautiful Butterflies with Copic markers, curl to shape and attach to the card. Finish card with an In Circle message in the centre.

Colour-Me 3

A quick Christmas card idea using the Colour-Me Collection ovals with the Jack Frost White papers.

A Z fold card again, colour the papers and attach to the card, add a layered up Colour-Me oval from the Noel pack, layer an In Circle Christmas message and add to the inside.

The Card Candy I used is Snowballs, a must for everyone. Coloured with Copic markers to match the papers, oval etc and everything matches.

Glitter glue finishes the card - I love to add glitter glue to the card candy.

Blog Candy!

Craftwork Cards are offering some BLOG CANDY as the new website is not quite ready due to technical testing which is taking longer than expected, but it has to be right before its launched.

Anyway they are offering a selection of some brand new products that are about to be released.

All you have to do is leave a comment about your favourite Craftwork Cards product on their blog and you will be entered into a draw.

Winner announced on Monday 23rd November.

Here's the link to their blog

Colour-Me 2

Following on my colouring in theme - another card made using the Colour-Me range.

Again I used the Monochromagic papers - just the white ones and coloured them using the Copic markers. Why had I never thought to colour white papers in before?

One of the Baby Colour-Me ovals coloured, layered onto a scallop oval and added to the front.

Lots of glitter glue - Stardust - again which you cant really see in the photo.

Colour-Me

I love to colour so our Colour-Me collection is right up my street.

This card is using the Monochromagic papers that I have coloured using Copic markers. I created a Z fold card and added a beautiful butterfly & colour-me oval from the Butterfly pack.

I have highlighted everything with glitter glue for extra sparkle and it looks gorgeous I have not captured that in the photo.

Weather Warning!

I was at the Glitter Pot on Friday for workshops and then a demo evening.
My day didnt start too well, the heavens opened and the rain came down like stair rods so I thought I would be a kind Mum and drop Owen at school on the way to the Glitter Pot, I have to go past it anyway.
Well the world and its wife were dropping off at school and I sat in the traffic trying to get away for a good 10 minutes.
Finally got to the M23 and got on my way, only to got about 2 miles down the road when the ambulance went roaring past me and then I saw the accident, a car on the central barrier, two wheel up on it and 2 wheels still on the road. Everyone was ok and no other cars involved and we got through it quickly enough.
Off again, only to stop about 4 miles down the road in solid traffic jam of 3 lanes of traffic. Well it was stop, start, stop, start for ages. It was due to flooding in the road further on at Handcross so only one lane could be used.
Normally it takes 30-35 minutes to get to the Glitter Pot, well today it took an 1 hour and 20 minutes and I still needed to get set up for the class!!
Got ready just in the nick of time, dead on 10:30am when the class was due to start.
The ladies loved the cards and it was really nice to see some new faces at the workshop. Of course it is also lovely to see my regular ladies too. Shared my lunch with Emma and a new lady (sorry I dont know your name) and they wanted to see how to decorate a Home Sweet Home, which I did ready for the demo evening.
The weather just go worse and worse during the morning and the rain did not let up, especially at lunch time it absolutely poured down. The wind was so strong too. The local news were giving out weather warnings saying dont go out unless you really have to 70 mile an hour gale force winds!
Needless to say that not many people did come for the demo - the weather really was dreadful.
It was lovely to see the ladies that did brave the weather and it was nice to be able to spend so much time with them explaining things and showing them different bits and pieces.
I made Bryan and Carolyn lots of new sample cards for the shop too.
Stupidly I forgot to photograph the cards from the workshop or the demo so I cant share them with you - sorry.
I will post some cards for you next week.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you next week.

Fridays collection

Ok a whole week of postings and lots of card ideas for you. Hope that makes up for the lack of postings over the last couple of months. I will try harder and post something as often as I can.

Todays cards are made using the Cupcake stamps from Craftwork Cards.

These look good enough to eat too! and you get a lovely saying stamp in this set.

This is a combination of the Candy Cane papers and cupcake stamps. I love how you can put a cherry in the top or a candle and again the lovely Birthday Wishes is in the set.

There are even some baby cupcakes that fit our scallop circles too.

I have forgotten how lovely this set is, I must get it inked up again very soon.

How long will this last!!

You know me! I dont think I can keep this up for too long, not posting everyday!!

Anyway here are some more cards for today featuring my Tweet Twoo sta
mps. I love these stamps, probably because they are my designs.

I created some background paper by stamping the little owl onto white card in green ink and the colouring some of them in. I then added glossy accents to make them look enamelled and stand out.

I created a centre opening card, stamped a bird on one side and an owl on the other using dye based inkpads. Coloured them in using the inkpads and a wet paint brush, cut round them and added the dotty paper to the inside of the card.

Stamp a row of owls on the branch using a dye based inkpad, colour in using the inkpads and a wet paint brush and then cut around them. The inside of the card has been stamped using a little flower combo that is in the Gilded Cages stamp set. Of course, there is also lots of glitter glue to add sparkle to the card.

Embossed card and dotty papers cover the front of the card. Stamped birds and branches using a soft pink inkpad and coloured them in with the same pad. Add glitter glue and ribbon.

9 sqaures of patterned paper, one of my all time favourite card designs, I do it all the time. Its a great way to use up scraps of patterned paper. I stamped owls and birds for the square, added a message and flower too. I love to edge the squares with glitter glue, simply rest the nozzle of the glue bottle on the edge of the paper and drag it carefully down the edge. Looks great.

Ok I will spoil you and put more cards up for tomorrow too!

More cards!

Todays cards feature Candy Cane papers and stamps. Hope you like them.

The card above has an acetate front with snowflakes stamped, cut out and joined together, then attach them to the inside of the card. The design was inspired from an original card by Paula Pascual.

This card has an acetate panel in it with my wording stamped on it using White Staz On, my favourite ink with acetate, it stamps beautifully. I made the flower from the heart design stamp and joined them together.

A panel of embossed cardstock has stamped trees on it and a stamped Joy message. Quick and easy but I really like this card.

Stamped puddings onto two of the Candy Cane papers and then mounted together. The card design is a Z fold, such a great card from a bog standard card blank. Card Candy in each scallop draws your eye to the puddings.

Another favourite card of mine. I love the bottom panel which is stamped using a red inkpad several times before reinking. The stamped baubles sit on a panel of embossed cardstock and I have added crystals and glitter glue for extra sparkle.

Whats in store for tomorrow?

Looking forward to ....

Im really looking forward to the Christmas Event that Craftwork Cards are holding at the beautiful hotel, The Village in South Leeds (minutes from Junction 28 of the M62).

Its a while since we did our last special day with a gorgeous 3 course lunch included. I enjoy the extra time catching up with the customers and seeing them have a great time.

Have some lovely ideas for the cards we will be making in the morning using brand new products not yet released!

The Tote-tastic gift for the afternoon workshop is amazing and I really want to be able to sit down and make one for me!

Full details can be found here, so if you fancy a lovely indulgent day spent crafting with like minded people why not treat yourself, you deserve it!

Thank You

Thanks for the lovely comments about being away.

Lynne, I dont have any dates set right now, as soon as I do they will be on the blog and I will email you too.

Right some cards! Not sure if any of these have been on before, if so Im sorry! If not enjoy!

Todays cards feature Joy from Craftwork Cards, its a Christmas range wit
h 2 designs that are for Christmas out of the 6 different ones. One is Christmas puddings and the other is trees which I think could also be party hats, so really only one Christmas design in the pack.

They are great for men's cards due to the colour combo. All these cards are for birthdays, not Christmas.

Enjoy.

What will I share with you tomorrow??

It's been so long

And all I can say is sorry for my absence and I will try harder!

So much has happened since I last posted, but then it was back at the end of September!

Valentino Rossi won the World Championship in Moto GP, poor old JT didnt do well at all, but he is off back to World Super Bikes next year and is looking good and extra gorgeous on his new bike (had to get that in just for Gill or she would have been disappointed in me).

We had just been to Ally Pally when I last posted, well I've been to Chesterfield for a special workshop and met some lovely ladies - who even came to see me at the NEC the weekend just gone. We then took part in a special event with QVC in London for 2 days, meeting lots of new customers and doing a Make and Take with them all.
Then I spent 3 days working at Craftwork Cards in Leeds working on the new website amongst other things. It was lovely to work with everyone up there and be part of the team and to see how it all works first hand.
Then it was off to Glasgow for Hobbycrafts Show for 5 days. I flew up as its too far for me to drive and the wind was so strong going up we arrived 20 minutes earlier! If only the same could have happened coming home. No the plane was delayed to 10:20pm so I eventually got home at 20 past midnight - a really long day when all you want to do is get home.
I then had a lovely week off with Merv and Owen as it was half term for us. The week flew by, Merv and I went out for lunch several times, did some shopping and generally had a nice time. It was Merv's 50th Birthday so we had his twin brother and all the family over at the weekend for a party. We had a great time and got to meet the latest edition to the family, Finley. He's just celebrated his first birthday and is absolutely gorgeous!

Last Wednesday we set off for Birmingham for Hobbycrafts at the NEC. Wednesday is set up day, then the show was on Thursday through to Sunday. It was so so busy and the days flew by and before we knew it we were breaking down and packing everything away again. It was our last show for this year, but we have just arranged a very special Christmas Event for Saturday 5th December at a beautiful hotel in Leeds, The Village Hotel South Leeds.

Here are the details:

Join us for a wonderful crafting day, hurry the seats are limited, click here to book your seat.
Next I will post some pictures of cards, because I know thats really why you visit my blog!
