My Workshop

Had a lovely workshop in Horley on Saturday, thank you to all the ladies that came and for all the lovely emails and comments about it.

They made four cards, so I will share 2 today and 2 tomorrow. We used the Kraft Collection papers from Craftwork Cards and the all new Sorbet Souffle papers - which are just beautiful! Sorbet Souffle will be on line this week at
Craftwork Cards.

We held a raffle to win a decorated tin full of goodies and Paula, very k
indly, donated a Craft Room pack and lots and lots of stickers. We raised £47 which is going towards my sponsorship for my Ribbon Walk on 20th June for Breast Cancer Care. Thank you to everyone who entered the raffle.

If you are interested in attending workshops in Horley, Surrey then email me at: julie8hickey@aol.com and I will send you details when the next workshop is arranged.

Time flies!

Where do the hours, days, weeks go? Must be because Im getting older but they just fly by!

Been busy getting ready for my workshop in Horley tomorrow and Im really pleased with the cards I have made and I hope the ladies will love them too. I will share them with you over the weekend.

Have been making some cards with new products from Craftwork Cards which will be on the website next week and they are quite simply gorgeous!

Sue and Richard are at Hobbycrafts in Liverpool at Aintree Racecourse this weekend, so if you live near go along and say hi and see all the lovely card making goodies they have.

I have been out walking and bike riding this week, I walked 5 miles on Monday and rode 5 miles on Wednesday and I want to do another 5 miles over the weekend. Hopefully Sunday after I have watched Valentino Rossi beat Casey Stoner in Moto GP. Good luck to JT (my co52y to52y (just for you Gill!!!)) please, please do better than last week - he came last - but he was booted off the track by the very naughty Tony Ellias! Fingers crossed you will be higher up the field - good free practice and I will get up early to watch qualifying before the workshop.

My vegetables that I planted have all come up, so I have thinned things out, covered over my potatoes and they need doing again. I have sown runner beans, tomatoes and peppers so hopefully they will all appear before too long.
I am amazed at how easy it has been and how brilliant that everything has grown - I didnt expect the seeds to germinate really!

I am at The Glitter Pot next weekend for their big Spring Spectacular. I am only there on Saturday but they have demonstrations going on both Saturday and Sunday. I will be showing all the gorgeous new Craftwork Cards products so be sure to come and say hi and see lots of samples
.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine.

Love these stamps!

I was looking back through some of my pictures today and came across this card.

I cant remember if I have posted it or not, but I love these stamps, the Graceful Grasses. The detail on them is incredible and they stamp beautifully every time.

Stamped using Stampin Up dyebased ink pads in three colours, cut into 4.5cm squares, tie ribbon around each square and attached to a Size 6, big square card. The centres of the flowes have been highlighted with glitter glue. Mini messages have been aded and finished with crystals at each end.

I love using 9 squares onto a square card you can get so many different looks for just one design.

If you too love the stamps, go see all 8 that come in the set here.

Have a lovely weekend and if you are going to Ally Pally, come and say hi.

Pebble Dash

More cards made using the Pebbles Inc papers. I have added glossy accents to some of the circles that make up the trees. Its had to capture it in the pictures but it looks fab in real life.

I love using 9 squares on a card. I use this design on all sorts of sized cards, you can embellish the squares as much or as little as you want. I have even added glossy accents to the card candy and made it look enamelled.

Do you like the pictures of my cards against the black background?

I will change the background to white when I take pictures next and see which one looks the best. So let
me know what you think.

Easter Pressie

I made this for Matt for Easter. I have bought Merv and Owen eggs but Matt didnt want one. Well I cant leave him out so I bought some little eggs and added something inside for him.

I have used the new Pebbles Inc papers that I bought and added a stamped message to the top.
Inside I have added £10 and the eggs are laying on shredded paper.

I didnt even know you could buy a box of 4 eggs but its really cute and I love that its square.

I hope you get lots of chocolate eggs or even just chocolate and have a great Easter.

More Cards

These are some other cards that I made using the SU bits.

I loved the design and I made a card similar to Debbies but using the SU bits.

This last card is made using some new Pebbles Inc papers I bought recently.

Been busy!

Im off work this week with Merv and Owen and have been a busy getting lots of bits and pieces sorted at home.

I have sorted the bed out the front of the house, pulling up all the old plants and planting some pansies. Im really pleased with how it looks and of couse I
planted purple pansies!

Merv and I planted the sprouting potatoes - so watch this space with those. My lettuces and radishes have all sprouted and will need thinning out soon! The carrots and parsnips are not doing anything at the moment but fingers crossed they will bery soon.

Merv has replaced the guttering on the back of the house, the rest of the house needs doing too but that will be a job for later on.

I have painted my log cabin, at last - Ive had the paint since it was put up which must be 2 or even 3 years ago! Its a lovely soft green and Im really pleased with it.

We have had a new tv aerial put up so Matt and Owen's tvs are brilliant now and Matt gets all the freeview channels at last.

Merv has been working on his bike this afternoon so I thought I would have an hour or so in my cabin and these are some of the cards that I made. I will share more over the next couple of days. They are using some new Stampin Up papers and the oval scallop punch and oval punch. As you will see the scallop oval and oval punches hold Craftwork Cards mini messages in the centres beautifully!! Added card candy too, of course.

If the weather is good tomorrow we are off to Hastings for the day - the beach at last!

Once they had made all the above cards I then set them a challenge to make a tall skinny card using the strip that is left when you cut a big square card from an A4 sheet.

This is what they made:

Great time

I had a fantastic time at the Great Northern Papercraft Extravaganza at Harrogate last weekend. Thanks to everyone who came to the show, my breakfast workshops (I know it was a rush but I hope you enjoyed the cards we made and I have taken all your comments on board for next time) and came to Craftwork Cards stand to see all the gorgeous new card making goodies.

Its always so great to get peoples feedback about what you think of the products and that we have designed something that you want to use.

The Kraft Foiled papers went down a storm and are just wonderful to work with - I love the colours - the turquoise I think is my favourite - yes I know there is purple in there too and hot pink and I adore the silver on the kraft - I love them all!!

So pleased too that people loved my cute and cuddly birds and owls that are foiled onto car
d so that you can add colour, crystals, glitter glue, card candy etc.

Be sure to check it all out at Craftwork Cards website.
