A few cards for Friday

This card features scallop circle wraps. Attach a wrap to the back of your card, wrap it around to the front and I have used a layered message to hold the wrap closed.

My favourite dotty daisies decorate the front and inside the card I have covered with some Basically Black patterned paper and added a scallop oval to write my message onto.

I love the monochromatic look, but you could easily add just one colour, say deep purple, hot pink, lime green or even orange to give the card a very different look.

I love this card, its so simple yet looks so good. Using a cream scallop edge size 6 card, colour edges with a chalk ink pad (my favourite colour for this is Versa Magic - Gingerbread). Using Graceful Grasses clear stamp set repeat stamp bullrushes all over the front of the card. Cut piece of ribbon to fit across card, tie second piece to it and attach to card with double sided tape. Add a layered message and hightlight bullrushes with glitz glitter glue - tiara.

Again Basically Black patterned papers with Japanese Doll Choko clear stamps. Stamp mini Choko onto scallop oval, colour in. Punch a hole top and bottom and thread with ribbon, attach to card with double sided tape. Stamp and cut out butterflies and add layered message. Highlight card with glitz glitter glue - ruby slippers.

Using It's a Hoot Owl template to trace around and cut out three owls from Yummy Scrummy Coffee & Cream paper pack. Stamp branches from Japanese Doll Akina clear stamp set in brown onto cream scallop edge card. Stamp and cut out flowers and glue to branches.

Add Card Candy for Owls eyes, layer a message and decorate card with glitz glitter glue - tiara.

Lastly, trace around Back2Basics plasma numbers onto back of Yummy Scrummy papers and cut out. Glue to card, decorate with flowers, adding Card Candy to centres. Colour edges of card with pink chalk ink pad. Highlight around edges of numbers with glitz glitter glue - tiara.

Im looking forward to seeing everyone at my workshop in Horley tomorrow.

Have a lovely weekend, enjoy the sunshine.

My New Best Friends!

My wonderful friend Sue, from Craftwork Cards, and I are going to take part in a Ribbon Walk on Saturday 20th June 2009 at Harewood House, Yorkshire. We are entering in the 10 mile walk and we will be one of those pink dots!

Sue told me about the walk and asked if I would do it with her. Well I have wanted to take part in a Ribbon Walk for sometime as I have lost my Dad Alf, my Father-in-Law Laurie and my cousin Sue all to cancer, I have also lost many friends to this awful illness too.

I have lots of friends who have fought and survived cancer and have a friend who is currently fighting breast cancer. This walk is for all those people.

10 miles may not sound very far but I am so unfit its not true, so today I went out and purchased myself a proper pair of trainers so that I can start to get fit, ready for the big day in June. So these are my new best friends!

And yes if you look closely there is mud on them as I went for a long walk around a Reigate Priory, a local park to where I live, today to break them in and to start training. I must have done about a mile and a half, not much I know, but its a start and I have to build the miles up over time.

I also bought a pair of walking socks that guarantees you wont get blisters! They are good for 1000 miles apparently. I have to say the trainers were very comfortable and so light as well.

If anyone would like to sponsor me - I have set up a page, through Breast Cancer Care, which makes it so easy, just click here. Any sponsorship, of any amount, will be really appreciated and go to this fantastic cause. Thank You.

Is orange my new purple?

I seem to be making a lot of cards in orange recently and I wonder if its my new purple? People who know me know how much I love all things purple - at the show in Manchester recently some ladies told me that they have purple weelie bins in Liverpool - I want one!

Anyway this is the card I made for a friend's birthday - Happy Birthday Rosie for tomorrow! Its using the new Craftwork Cards Japanese Doll clear stamps - Akina. I adore the flower stamp in this set and use it all the time.

I also made a sweetie bag using one of Craftwork Cards wraps and again this was in organe using the same stamp.

Back on line at the moment!!

The internet and getting connected this week has been an absolute nightmare! I have nearly thrown my computer out of the window several times. I hate not being able to get on-line, not being able to read emails and check out blogs - you just get so used to it. I cant tell you just how frustrating its been.

Anyway at the moment its working, but then it worked for all of 5 minutes yesterday so who knows how long I may be able to be on-line today.

If there is a computer wizard out there who lives near me let m
e know I may need your services very soon!!

Anyway I have been busy creating for Crafts Beautiful bu
t I cant share the cards with you - sorry. They will be in the May issue. Its a set of stamped cards, using just one stamp set for lots of different occasions. I have also made cards that I think will be in Simply Cards and Papercrafts soon - will let you know.

I have also been busy making cards for Make It Show at Farnborough next Friday, Saturday and Sunday - hope we will see lots of you there. Stop by the stand and say hello and see all the wonderful new Craftwork Cards goodies.

Also made my cards for my workshop in Horley that is fully booked now and Im so looking forward to that - we had such a lovely morning last time. I will show you the cards after the workshop on the 28th.

Merv, my hubby, bought me a heart shaped box of my favourite chocolates the other day - not for Valentines, just because Ive always wanted a heart shaped box and they were my favourite chocolates! Good for the waistline - NOT but still never mind. Anyway Friday nights in our house is Rugby and Wrestling night so I got to play and decorate the heart shaped box - well the chocolates have gone so I thought I would decorate it.

This is it so far. Let me know what you think.

Happy Birthday Owen

Owen will be 14 tomorrow and I will be away working in Manchester at the Stitch and Creative Crafts Show.

I have wrapped lots of little pressies for him and he has a new bag for school. There is a birthday cake hidden for him and we have a surprise outing for him with Merv and Matt on Friday night.

I will be back late Saturday night, but he is off to a party so we will celebrate his birthday on Sunday.

Then its Matt's birthday on Monday and he will be 20 - I cant believe it was 20 years ago where did the time go.

Have a wonderful day Owen!

Todays the day!!

Well Ive kept you waiting long enough and today is the day to reveal what I was so excited about.

Its been months in the planning, Sue at Craftwork Cards has designed a gorgeous range of clear rubber stamps featuring Japanese Dolls and some flower collections too. When I posted that I was itching to tell you all something it was because I had just been sent the proofs of the rubber stamps and they are amazing.

They are not the same as normal clear stamps, the material is much firmer and gives brilliant results, keeping all the ultra fine detail. I think they are stunning, as did lots of people yesterday when we unveiled them at the Stamparama Show, Stevenage. We had fabulous comments about the rubber stamps and would love to see pictures of cards that anyone makes using the stamp designs (email them to info@craftworkcards.com).

Start collecting
the complete range of our Japanese Dolls choose from Choko, Akina, Shino and Misaki. Mix and match all the borders and accessories that come on the stamp sheets, the flowers on the girls dress is in the border, as a seperate stamp to create backgrounds with, is in the centre of a parasoul, is on a fan and so on.

There is a Here Come the Girls gallery and a gallery for the Flower Collections too for card making ideas and we will be adding to this, we also have some magazine articles planned for them.

Let us know what you think and go Meet the Girls!
