I'm so lucky!

It was my birthday on Sunday and after being away all weekend at the Art Stamp Show in Newbury, I packed up and travelled home as quickly as possible and the M3 and M25 was very kind to me.

On the way home I decided I really did want an ice cold G&T so I stopped to get some tonic but alas it was warm and it has to be ice cold. Anyway they had coke in the fridge so I settled for a long Bacardi and Coke.

When I arrived home I was faced with this at the entrance to the garden!

So I had to sit outside but up by the house for my drink but was told my Merv that it would be worth it.
Anyway as the sun started to go down behind the trees I was allowed down to see what they had done for me.

It was amazing they had covered the garden with duvets, pillows, blankets, cushions and covered them in sheets, sprinkled cut flower heads everywhere (in my favourite purple colour). Merv had built a low table and this too was covered in flowers, ribbons etc.

There were candles and josh sticks burning everywhere - it was lovely.

So I sat myself down and Merv presented Mango Lassie (a gorgeous mango, milk and icecream drink), pompodoms with onion and tomato salad, mango chupney, Chicken Thia curry, lemon rice and then to follow chocolate torte and icecream- it was scrummy.

This meant more to me than any present would, thank you Merv, Matt and Owen.

How kind is this, Sandra who comes to a monthly get together of fellow card makers sent me this lovely card as a Thank you for me taking some bits to sell from my Craft room. It was mainly stamps, punches and some dies but I still have lots to get rid of!!
Sandra included a lovely craftaholic's poem with my card, thank you Sandra.

Not really me at all but I love it!

I made a card similar to these for a very special friend. Its not really my style at all but I love it! I used an acetate butterfly from Craftwork Cards and coloured it with alcohol inks and then stamped the front with the Friends wording in black staz on. The Friends stamp is from Hero and I have had it for a little while but I would think its still available and the swirly one is a Magenta new addition to my collection. I have stamped onto Softies range of card which has a soft texture to it and I watercoloured the Magenta design. This card is perfect as it can take the water and the colour moves beautifully over the card. I would really recommend it for stamping on. I then mounted it onto a Softies pink card which is the palest pink and just simply gorgeous. The messages are In Circles layered onto a scallop circle (SU) and then I like to punch holes at each scallop using my trusty Japanese Screw punch - which I could not live without.

Same card design but this time in browns and onto the gorgeous Starlights Caramel cardstock.

What a mess!

Well Ive started so I will have to finish! It took 4 days to get my shed back into some sort of order - I will take pictures later when I have cleared up I have been making cards for a workshop on Saturday at Leeds.
These are what it looked like on Saturday in the garden and inside the shed. The stuff outside is about half of what was in the shed the other was moved over so I could paint. Fortunately I got everything back inside - I couldnt swing a cat in the shed but slowly it all came together and by Monday evening it looked much better. I still have things to sort though and throw out - I mean give away! and I want to label everything but that will happen one day soon.
This is my new unit - not as it looks now I might add, but just full of stuff as it had to go somewhere whilst I painted the rest of the walls.
I will take pictures of the new studio soon!

All Change!

Ever started something and then wished you hadnt? Well I have!!
Yesterday I went with Paula to Ikea and bought some lovely new units for my studio, affectionately known by my boys as my SHED. Well after a hell of a struggle to get them into my car and trying to get rid of a man that wanted to take them home for me for a small fee! I dont suppose I would ever have seen them again! We had to unpack everything and Paula had about 3 inches of leg room - good job she only has little legs! Anyway we got them home and Merv and Matt put them together in about 5 minutes flat.
Well Paula encouraged me to paint the inside of my shed - so we cleared one wall and painted it with a couple of coats, installed the new units and promptly filled them with stuff. But where does all the other stuff go?
I have just cleared another wall of units and shelving ready to paint that and everything is outside under a sheet trying its best not to get wet. So Im off to paint another wall then move everything out from the other two walls and to paint them.
I have way too much stuff in my shed and some has to go. Im sure the local school craft club will enjoy some of the bits but I will be having some things to sell too and will post them on my blog soon.

Once its all done I will take some pictures to share but right now - I wished I never started it!!!
When its all done and back together it will be well worth it I know but when that will be Im not sure.
